Originally, basketball is invented in Canada. James Naismith is the inventor of this game. He was a professor at Springfield University and he invited in 1891. He firstly used a sccer ball to play this game. The baskets were two boxes attached to the balconies at the gym. The first game, of course was played in 1891, but the first basketball match was played in New York in 1934. There were more than 1500 fans at the New York-Notre Dame game which ended 25-18.

The rules of the game is known by many people. there are two teams with five players in each team. There are baskets that the players need to throw the balls in to score at the game. these baskets ( hoops ) are high from the ground. It is easy to play when the rules are learned. Thats why many people around the world plays basketball for many years. It helps to improve body and teamwork since it's a team game.

National Basketball Association ( NBA ) is the most famous basketball league. It is in North America and almost all of the best players are playing in NBA. There are 30 teams, 15 from the east, 15 from the west. Many people follow the games and the players of the NBA because its like a phenomenon in the world.Many basketball players aim to be in the NBA some day. it's a dream for many players in high schools or in colleges.

In conclusion, one of the most popular sports around the world is basketball. It is played in may places and it easy to play and support the things needed to play. This makes basketball this popular.

My name is Berk Aslan. I was born in Mersin and I live in Mersin. my birthday is December 21. I have sister clled Berfin and she's a prep here in TAC.
